College Prayer

20X 26 Framed Drawing

This drawing was created in the months following my college graduation- a transitional period marked by both achievement and internal unrest. I have always leaned toward control: planning, anticipating, managing every possible outcome. Yet beneath that structure lived a longing to let go.

Through charcoal, graphite, and colored pencil, I depicted a feminine figure wrapped in red rope, inspired by the visual language of Shibari. The rope becomes symbolic- not of confinement, but of surrender, softness, and the paradox of finding freedom within limitation.
